At this point we are in it. The heat that is – I personally can’t get enough! Mark and I just got back from NYC and it was so nice to walk around in shorts and a t-shirt museum hopping and central park strolling!
This week we bring you some odds & ends…
I got the pleasure to sit down with Kim Coleman, owner of Vanity Salon (get there asap!) to get her best hair and make up tips when you leave the gym or a sweaty run outside. I have already started implementing them and feel much sassier after a workout.
CB: If we don’t have time for a full hair wash, what should we do to camouflage our sweaty scalp & roots?
KC: Dry shampoo is your best friend! They have so many different kinds on the market now that there is something for every hair type. It will also add boost of volume to stringy hair.
CB: What are easy ways to turn our gym ponytail into something we can go to happy hour with?
KC: Accessorize – add a cute headband or take a piece of hair and wrap it around your actual ponytail holder and secure with a bobby pin. Also take advantage of the added texture your hair will have from jostling around and sweating to make a cute messy bun.
CB: Eek I have a beet red face after pounding the pavement in 100 degree heat – make up tips?
KC: This is actually a good thing! You can put a light layer on of your favorite BB cream and skip the blush. Most people would kill for the naturally flush pink tones in the apples of our cheeks. For the immediate overheating issue, pack some cooling wipes or soak a washcloth in ice cold water to blot your face. If you are worried about continuing to sweat after the fact use a good face primer to set the makeup. Spray tans are great for evening out skin tones!
CB: What are your go to beauty products to pack in your gym bag?
KC: We are loving Amika’s Dry Shampoo, baby wipes for sensitive skin for all post gym needs and most importantly our eyelash extensions! These are perfect for summer so you can skip the mascara, go for a swim & workout. Right now we are running a special for $100 OFF!!!
